This scripture tells us the tables will turn on the enemy. Isaiah 14:2 says, “Then people will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them for servants and maids in the land of the LORD they will take them captive whose captives they were, and rule over their oppressors” (New King James Version). He will crush Satan under your feet shortly (Romans 16:20). Your enemies who are calling the shots now will soon be receiving orders from you! They will become your footstool. God said to His Son, Jesus, to sit at His right hand, till He would make His enemies His footstool (Hebrews 1:13). You will plunder those who have plundered you. This scripture shall be fulfilled in your life in Jesus’ name. “They will take the treasures of those who took their treasures they will take the loot of those who took their loot, says the Lord God” (Ezekiel 39:10b New Century Version). How wonderful that is! Great! That means power will change hands. “‘They will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage those who pillaged them,’ says the Lord GOD” (verse 10b New King James Version).Īs the last Bible verse says, the plunderer will be plundered those who pillaged will be pillaged. They would not take wood from the field or cut down any from the forests because they would make fires with the weapons (verse 10a). And God will destroy his armies (Ezekiel 38-39).Įzekiel 39:9 says those who dwelled in the cities of Israel would go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears and they would make fires with them for seven years. Gog of the land of Magog is a biblical personality, symbolic or literal, that God would cause to rise up together with his allies against the nation of Israel. The disadvantaged will soon be at an advantage. The joy of the wicked will not last long. But God who gives power to the weak and increases strength to those who have no might will soon put you above them (Isaiah 40:29). They may think you’re powerless today and, therefore, exploit and oppress you. God cannot be mocked whatever anyone sows that he shall reap (Galatians 6:7).

This truth should discourage anyone from evil or wickedness. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Power may change hands and the victims of his wickedness may be in a powerful position to determine his fate. The tables shall be turned on him one day. The wicked should know that he may be killing innocent people with the sword today, there is a payday for him. Nevertheless, in relation to the use of the sword by the wicked, which Peter was not, we have something to learn from the words of Jesus. But because Jesus was destined to die on the cross and His arrest was part of the script, He condemned Peter’s action. Peter used it in defence of Jesus, not as an aggressor. Peter’s use of the sword was different from the enemy’s use of it. “But Jesus said to him, ‘Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword” (Matthew 26:52 New King James Version). The proverb “Live by the sword, die by the sword” is most probably derived from the words of Jesus in Matthew 26:52 during his arrest when Peter, in trying to defend Jesus with his sword, struck the high priest’s servant, Malchus, and cut off his right ear (John 18:10). What the Lord did in the Bible against the enemies of His people, He is set to do for you or in your life. He is ready to turn the tables on your enemy. God is about to change everything in your favour. Whatever the oppression, evil, or wickedness you have suffered in the hands of Satan and his human cohorts, understand that this will not continue for long. The oppressed or victimized can gain the upper hand. They fail to remember that things can change tomorrow. They have the self-delusion that things would continue the way they are forever. Similarly, the wicked ones or the enemies oppress, punish, or victimize others because they are in power. They hardly think that their subordinates today may also occupy exalted positions tomorrow that could make them their superiors. They fail to remember that the power they have today may cease tomorrow.
